After getting more feedback and opinions from classmates, I finally made up my mind on the logo that I like the most. And decided to name my brand "Yu Design". But I did make some change to the logo according to some feedbacks. I made the lines thicker and the space between the lines wider because it was not that clear as "yù" when put in a small size. And it looks much more like "yù" now even in a mini size.

I made many versions of business card last time. As I have chosen my logo, I was still left with half of the choices. I thought about the time and the uncertainty of how it would come out with the effect that I want and everything, I finally chose a version that is simple and clean, but worried a little about if anyone would say "I can't see your whole logo there". However, some classmates thought it doesn't matter because people can see it on my website and it is a business card for contact information. So, I went with it and got it printed out. It was a pity that I couldn't give my business cards in the last class though.

As for the typeface for Yu Design, I chose Tofino Pro Personal last time. I was thinking about using only one typeface through out the brand. But, that was because I was just doing the logo and logotype, there wasn't that much text showing up. Tofino Pro Personal is a good font for logotype and some short text. I found it didn't look clear enough when used in long text later when I was editing the introduction of myself in my website. Therefore, I decide to add a secondary typeface for long text, which is Futura. This typeface looks clean and modern, also fits Tofino Pro Personal well.

I thought the portfolio website was the main reflection of the personal brand, and therefore should be the most important part in this project. I spent a lot of time on the website, learned a lot about how to get my own domain with my brand name and get it connected to the website that I was editing. That was the technology part. As the branding and graphic design part, I tried to apply the color palette to my website by editing the pictures of my works and rearranging the order of my projects. I tried to make my website have the same feel as the brand ( me ).

I was also having a hard time to find the right way to show my works. When I was doing those projects, I actually did a lot of things like sketches, wire frame, different design choices, detailed design parts and other design progress. Should I put everything in my portfolio? If not, how much should I put and in what way people can know my talents better? I went through some designers' website to look for the answers. It seemed like no one would put everything up and they didn't really show the progress in their portfolio. Most designers will pick their best works and show them in a good looking way with a little explanation of the project. So, that was how I tried to do with my works too. Here are some picture of my website www.yudesign.world. Go check it out.

And I also learned about how to make brand guidelines in this project. Below is the brand guidelines for Yu Design.
